Acid Rain
Problem: The problem with acid rain is that it is not good for the environment. it also isn't good in the regular world because it will erode buildings and statues.
How does the human population contribute to the identified problem: The human population contributes to this by constantly burning fossil fuels, emitting carbon into the atmosphere. The carbon in the atmosphere is mixed with clouds and comes back down in a acidic form.
What solutions have been developed to decrease or change the issue: Many solutions have been developed to control acid rain. For example, most factories now have scrubbers to emit less pollution into the air. We also have hybrid and electric cars to limit pollution in the air.
Give 3 suggestions you can share with the general public as to how they can assist in the correction of the identified problem:
Use less gas by switching to a hybrid car
Using less products that heavily rely on factories
Avoiding the use of fossil fuels by walking or riding a bike place to place.
Global warming
Problem: Burning Fossil fuels are trapped in the atmosphere. This increases the global temperature. If this continues, habitats will be destroyed. Ice caps are melting, and the ocean water has been rising inches every year.
How does the human population contribute to the identified problem: Humans burn fossil fuels, and that is what causes global warming.
What solutions have been developed to decrease or change the issue: Many educated people have made good plans to decrease the effects of global warming. These includes hybrid cars and other economically friendly or green products.
Give 3 suggestions you can share with the general public as to how they can assist in the correction of the identified problem:
Burn less fossil fuels and switch to a hybrid car
Make more eco-friendly factories
Avoiding the use of fossil fuels by walking or riding a bike place to place.
Ozone depletion
Problem: Ozone layer of the atmosphere is being depleted. This is not good for the earth because the suns radiation can penetrate the atmosphere.
How does the human population contribute to the identified problem: Humans contribute to the problem by using fossil fuels and it harms the atmosphere.
What solutions have been developed to decrease or change the issue: Use less fossil fuels
Give 3 suggestions you can share with the general public as to how they can assist in the correction of the identified problem:
Make laws to protect the ozone
Make more eco-friendly cars
Walk or ride a bike from place to place
Eutrophication
Problem: Run off from farm fertilizer is going into large bodies of water. This helps the plants grow, but they grow out of control and kill fish and other water dwelling creators.
How does the human population contribute to the identified problem: Humans contribute by over using fertilizer in farms. Farm run off is bad for the environment because it causes other plants to grow at a very fast pace.
What solutions have been developed to decrease or change the issue: People have been cleaning up lakes where Eutrophication has happened.
Give 3 suggestions you can share with the general public as to how they can assist in the correction of the identified problem:
Clean up lakes
Remove phosphate and other chemicals from the water
Limit amount of fertilizer used.
